Satomi Cox
Guest Instructor
Satomi Cox is from Iwate Prefecture in Japan. She is a student of the Ryusei-ha form of traditional Ikebana as well as modern Japanese flower arrangement styles. Satomi is a certified floral designer with the Japan Institute of Floral Design (JIFD). Satomi’s unique arrangement style integrates techniques from traditional and modern Japanese Ikebana and Hawaiian lei making. She has combined traditional and local flora with inorganic materials such as Origami papers and Mizuhiki, a Japanese decorative cord used in formal gift wrapping, to add seasonal flair for this workshop’s arrangement design.
